Shelter Exhibition at The Society for Contemporary Craft

This April, my “chairrareum” window installation is part of the Unblurred event during the Geek Arts/Green Innovators (GA/GI) festival.  Lisa Toboz was fantastic enough to take these amazing photos and wrote about her obsession with them.

Table & Spoon also has included some great photos of these in their GA/GI roundup!

Each of them (except one) are live moss, dirt and some seeds, and each contains a small, white, handmade chair.  I’m excited to see how they evolve over the month.  Naturally I have my own ideas behind their creation, but I’d love to hear what people think they are about.

Without body language or the inflection of face-to-face communication, and often with limited characters, the recipient of a text or email is left to his or her own history, presumptions and mood to determine or manufacture the meaning and subtext.
